Installation Instructions for Classic Speedster Tonneau
Tools Needed:
- Razor Blade
- 9/16" Wrench
- 9116" Socket

Model Years product will fit: 94 and later Mustangs
Read All Instructions Prior to Installation. Check all parts for defects or burrs and fit before installing. Parts which have been defaced (drilled, cut, sanded, painted, etc.) may not be returned. If "L" brackets have not been removed prior to paint, remove by drilling out the rivets. (Do NOT reattach these brackets).
Paint Preparation:
- Pre-wipe tonneau cover with TSP
- Hand sand with 150 grit sand paper to a light scuff
- Pre-wipe with wax and grease remover
- Spray on a sub coat primer (surfacer).
- After primer has dried, use 400# or 600# sandpaper to paint ready
- Pre-wipe and refinish to an OEM finish.
InstallationProcedure -- Front Mounting Strap:
- Carefully turn tonneau upside down on a workbench or suitable hard surface.Be sure to cover your work surface with a blanket or bubble wrap to protect the painted finish.
- Install strap into pre-cut groove located in the center of the tonneau.
- Attach strap using 7/16" bolt and nut provided.
- Bend rear tabs on tonneau down slightly for proper seating under molding when you install tonneau.
Rubber Gasket Trim:
- Along the underlid outside edge, use a scuffed pad and scuff a small amount along this edge.
- Use isopropyl alcohol and wipe this edge clean and allow to dry.
- Remove small sections of the two way tape backing and apply to this edge and continue all the way around the lid. Trim as necessary to provide a neat finished appearance.
Installing on Vehicle with Light Bar:
- Remove angle tabs located on either side of tonneau towards the front.
- Tilt front edge of tonneau down towards light bar.
- Gently lower rear half of tonneau down and slide back until rear tabs locate under the factory molding.
- Buckle seat belt straps into factory buckle and tighten.
Installing On Vehicle Without Light Bar:
- Slide tonneau back onto vehicle, allowing rear mounted tabs to slide under factory molding.
- Gently set front of tonneau down. Be sure that front tabs are located behind plastic to act as positive stops.
- Buckle seat belt straps into factory buckle and tighten.
